About us

The Canadian Cancer Society encourage active transportation.

The Compare (2019) study indicate that we could prevent approximately 146,400 cancers by 2042 if Canadians adopted a more active lifestyle and were exposed to lower levels of air pollution. Physical activity prevents four risk of cancer: sedentary behaviours, lack of physical activity, weight management and air pollutants. In this regard, the Canadian Cancer Society initiated the On Your Feet Challenge in Quebec elementary schools in 2015 and in Ontario elementary schools in 2019.

Did you know that more than 100,000 people have practiced active transportation since 2015 through the On your feet Challenge? Together, they traveled 1,436,522 km, adopted a healthier lifestyle and helped reduce their carbon footprint.

Active transportation is free, easy, and a great way to move more every day.
